We all have good ideas in our minds. Innovative ideas can be appreciable and if brought into reality, they can also bring us success. But most of the time we don’t inculcate ideas in reality and innovative ideas remain dormant because most of us don’t take them seriously and many feel it’s difficult.

The idea of creating a plan, executing it, and turning ideas into action can appear challenging. With that said, many people are looking for a way for turning ideas into action. The solution lies in the tools and techniques of goal setting.  But before anything, do you know why it’s difficult to put ideas into action?

Ideas are easy to create. It just needs creative thinking. But it’s difficult to put ideas into action because the main problem lies with the mindset. Many people get successful because of their innovative ideas. For example – Mark Zuckerberg, his idea about creating a social site that brought people all over the world together. He tried and failed many times but finally, he got success. It's his idea that brought him success. All this proves that no one can stop you if you are passionate enough to invent your ideas.

6 reasons stop from taking ideas seriously

1. Not taking the risk

Many times situation comes where we meet a stranger and we want to say hello, but at the back of our mind, we get the thought that what if that person didn’t entertain us or what if that person gets negative thinking about us? And we feel, it’s better to shut up and we lose an opportunity to make new contact thinking about the consequences and possibilities that haven’t yet emerged. The same happens with our ideas. Instead of taking an action on our ideas, we keep on thinking so much about them that we end up doing nothing. That’s because we don’t want to take the risk. Our fear stops us from taking action.

2. Fear of Success

We all have fear of failure. But many people have fear of success too. People who have this phobia, think about how will be the situation after they get succeeded. How their family, and friends will react to them. This kind of fear is mostly held by people who are shy or don't get comfortable with the limelight. They feel after getting success, people will start recognizing them. In short, they don't think about the attempts they will have to make before getting success. They think directly about success so much that they feel it's difficult for them to handle success resulting in stopping themselves from turning their ideas into reality.

3. Distraction

Distraction can stop anyone from achieving success. Here's how. When we have a good idea in our mind and we think about acting on it. But many things in our lives distract us from achieving our goals. We give more important time to the things that cannot bring any positive gain for us. For example - spending too much time on social sites, watching TV, and playing games on mobile and we waste important time that if been used properly would have been productive. And even if we try to avoid those distractions like keeping our data off or deactivating our social sites, somewhere our inner feelings forces us to turn the data on and check our mobile or login social sites and we can't help but follow those urge and end up wasting our time on those unproductive things and delay our plan to act on our ideas. We keep on delaying so much that our idea never gets to see reality.

4. Underestimating the self capabilities

We have all had that moment when we start to feel demotivated. It usually happens around the same time every year and it usually happens when the days are long and the winter is settling in. We look around our lives and see all the things we're not doing. We're not taking the life-changing trip or the new job or the big project that we've been wanting. What's worse, we are worried that we might not do anything at all.

We underestimate our capabilities and what we're capable of. Often times this is because we don't believe we can do it. What's the solution? How do you turn ideas into action? One thing you can do is focus on the process. Instead of focusing on the outcome, focus on the process. When you are thinking about what you want to do, focus on the steps you need to take and how you can get things done. Put more concentration on the things that you want to do, turning ideas into action is not an easy task. Even if you complete the first step of the process, you are on the path to achievement. Avoid thinking on topics that put questions on your capabilities and keep your target on turning your ideas into action.

5. Waiting for the right time

Sometimes you have ideas that you believe in and you have a vision of what you want to happen. Maybe you are waiting to get the funding you need or waiting for the right time to go public. There are many reasons why you might be waiting for the right time, but it can be difficult to know when the timing is right. However, the question is not if the time is right, but what can you do to make the timing work in your favor. Taking action is the best thing you can do to make the timing work in your favor. Take small steps to start the process.

6. Doubting the idea

There is always a worry that an idea is not going to work. To come up with a great idea and turn it into a reality, you need to have faith in your idea. This is a great way to overcome the fear of doubting the idea and set your mind on the goal you have in mind.

Whatever the reason, you don't want to let it stop you from turning your ideas into action. You can overcome these obstacles by taking action on your ideas. You can make it easier on yourself by breaking the project into small, manageable steps. You can also make sure that you keep track of your progress, which will make it easier to see your efforts paying off. This is an important step in the process of turning your ideas into action.

How do you put an idea into action?

1. Prioritize

It's always important to analyze the idea and believe that your ideas have the potential to make a difference and can contribute positively to society. Prioritize things in your life. Avoid doing things that will just waste your time. It's always difficult to avoid bad habits that have already taken place in the daily routine. Realize that everyone has 24 hours a day and if you want to do something different, you'll have to change your daily routine.

Concentrate on being productive. When you emphasize productivity, you'll realize how much time you wasted on the things that don't matter. If you are addicted to being online for hours on social media, try to deactivate your account. Keep your mobile away from your sight. Keep reminding yourself that you have many things to do. Try to involve your brain in productive work. Nothing happens overnight. Patience is important. Try doing this for a day. Make small changes that are easy to adopt. Inculcate good habits in your life.

2. Have a plan

Numerous questions come to mind when it comes to turning ideas into action. How do you put an idea into action? What are the steps necessary to take action on our ideas? Where do we start? What's the best time to take action? There are endless questions that come to mind, but the best way to take action is to have an idea. To turn ideas into reality, you must have a plan. You should have a clear idea of what you want to do. You must be able to visualize this in your head. You must also be able to think about what your next steps will be. It is also important to have multiple ideas. If you have one idea and you want to turn it into reality, it will be much harder to get it done. You should also make sure that you have a timeline to follow. This will help you to see if you are on track or if there are any hiccups.

3.  Breaking down the process

While it is easy to have a lot of ideas, it is not always easy to turn them into reality. People, have difficulty coming up with ideas that are realistic, feasible, and have a chance of success and often wonder how do you put an idea into action?
To help yourself, there are a few steps you can take. If you have a lot of ideas, break them down into smaller categories. This process will make it easier for you to figure out what you are good at and what you are passionate about. It is also helpful to identify where the ideas go wrong. To help yourself, you should identify the limitations of your ideas.

4. Handle Criticism

Many scientists or personalities who tried doing something different in life have gone through initial criticism. So, if you have fear of people who will laugh at you or won't understand your idea. Don't expect people to understand you. Because they cannot see your idea which is inside your mind. It's your vision. Fix it in your mind that if people laugh at your idea, that's okay. Have faith and don't let your self-confidence get down.

5. Get Started

Jeremy Bruner, an American Psychologist said, "You are more likely to act yourself into feeling than to feel yourself into action". It means, don't think that I will start once I'll feel ready to start it. Instead, start taking action now and you will see how you get positive and energetic to make it happen. Because once you get started you will start moving forward.

6. Ready with a solution

Another answer for how do you put an idea into action? is to be ready with a solution.

When you want to turn your idea into reality by embarking on a new project or implementing your idea into an ongoing old one, you will face many challenges as turning your ideas is not an easy task and you will face many problems while turning your ideas into reality.

One of the best ways to create a solution is to know what the challenges are and have a plan for them. You might have some ideas of what you want, but you'll need a plan for turning those ideas into reality. To turn those ideas into reality, you'll need to have a solution, a solution that will help you to get through the challenges and not just the challenges.

So, sometimes keeping yourself ready with a solution to an anticipated problem that you might face will help you to save time and also lessen your stress on assuming what you should do next.

Bottom Line:

Life is all about taking ideas and turning them into things that people can actually use. When we have an idea to start a business we have a tendency to think about it and then put it aside. But the time has come for you to start thinking about the steps that will be involved to put ideas into action and turn it into reality!

There is a big difference between knowing what needs to be done to put ideas into action. When turning ideas into action, you might get overwhelmed by the number of things you need to do. There are many ways to help yourself when you are trying in turning ideas into action. One of the best ways is to break your ideas up into smaller steps or smaller bits.

For example, if you are trying to lose weight, you can break your idea into smaller steps: what, how, when, where, and who. If you are trying to sell more products, you can break the idea into smaller bits, such as: what’s your offer, how you promote your offer, and when you promote your offer. In short, while turning ideas into action you will come across many of instances where the situations will make you feel overwhelmed but all you need to do is stay focused and track your progress.

We all have limited time. We all are about to die one day. So, recognize the importance of time and start taking initiative. Success takes time. No first attempt turns into success. Sometimes we see failure too. That doesn't mean we should stop trying.

Ideas can change the course of your business if you can bring them to life in an effective way.

Keep improving until you succeed. I believe that we all have the power to change our world and advanced technology has made many of our tasks easy. We can make better use of technology to put ideas into action.
