We meet many people in our life. Some people we like because they motivate us or you can say, we like their attitude towards life. While on the other hand, there are some people whose talks actually affect us. The negative talks make us run away from that person.
In every person's life, there are such negative people whose presence is upsetting and even though we avoid that person, their negative talk keeps on haunting in our mind. This not only disturbs the peace of our mind but also gives rise to self-doubts and low self-confidence.
Such people do exist who try to discourage others rather than encouraging them. Dealing with negative people sometimes becomes difficult. In such a scenario, it is important to not get affected by such people especially when you have high goals and interest in trying something new, something different in your life.
Practically, it is possible only by Practicing. The advice that I am going to share with you all. These tips have helped me in my life and can help you all as well.
1. Don't let other's negative energy put you down / Ignore negative people
It's actually very discouraging when someone treats your thoughts negatively. But understand that it's your life. People keep on sharing their thoughts even when you unwelcome their opinion. But that doesn't mean you should entertain everyone's opinion.
Make yourself understand that you are capable of thinking about what is good for you and you don't need the advice of someone who himself keeps criticizing others or who has problem for every solution.
Don't let other's energy make you feel low and disturb your decision making power.
2. Stop taking personally
Imagine a scenario where you have planned to try something new and with excitement and happiness, you share it with your friend. But instead of motivating or appreciating you, he counts negative judgment on it. This is very discouraging but you know that it just doesn't have anything to do with you. It's their own issues and insecurities which they express or you can say like it's their thinking that emphasis more on the negative side rather than the positive side and come out as criticism to others.
So not taking anything seriously that other people do or say is really important. Disconnect yourself from negative people's frustrations and do not rationalize their opinion. Instead, stop taking their opinion personally and do what you feel right for you.
3. Be empathetic towards negative people
Every individual's mindset is different. Every person goes through different situations in life. Their friend circles are too different. Our thoughts are always based on these prospects.
Next time when someone gives you a negative comment, instead of getting upset, understand the scenario and express your point of view.
Rather than attacking them with anger, treat them in a kind way. If possible, share some positive thoughts with them and avoid saying that they should stop being negative.
Be empathetic towards them, share some positivity with them. You never know, your one effort can help that person to change his point of view towards life.
4. Never let anyone take advantage of your kindness
It is always important to distance your thoughts from people with negative energy. Remember, if you are going to be too silent, you build the impression that something that is being said is approved by you.
Always be calm in every situation but don't let anyone feel you are accepting everything that is being said to you just because you were silent.
Make firm boundaries and don't let anyone cross them. Never let anyone cross their limits by judging you.
5. Forget the things that were said to you
A negative comment against you is always energy draining. People may comment and pass by but the person against whom it was targeted, keeps on thinking about it even though he's right. This not only upsets him but he also wastes his time thinking unnecessarily.
So, the best is to let go. Talk to people who uplift your mood or meditate or carry activities that refresh your mood.
6. Set reminders
The last, very important, and kind of one that can work out is, there are many pictures available which state not to entertain negativity. Download such a picture and make it your mobile wallpaper.
And whenever someone starts commenting negatively, have a loom on your mobile wallpaper. Make it a habit.
This will not just help you to be indifferent to negative comments but also help you to find the right path in life. Do try it; am sure it will work out.
People confronted with negative peer pressure often find it difficult to find succeed in life hence, avoiding negativity or avoiding negative people from interfering in your life is very important for positive growth and success. Though there are somethings that we can't stop like we can't stop people talking negatively.
