In March 2023, Ratan Tata received an Australia Honorary award for his outstanding contributions to the Australia-India bilateral relationship, particularly in the fields of trade, investment, and charity, Ratan Tata, an industrialist, and philanthropist from India has been made" an Honorary Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AO)". On the recommendation of Barry O'Farrell, Australia's High Commissioner to India, the statement was delivered by the Governor-General of Australia.
